The Time is Now

July 30, 2018

Soon the leaves will start to change, and summer will come to an end. While it feels like the warm weather had just arrived, and your summer plans were still ahead of you, both will shortly be in the rear-view mirror. It’s important to remember that custom remodeling projects, just like the seasons, change throughout the year. If your dream project is finally a reality, it may be time to put it on the books to ensure that it gets done in a timely manner. There are several factors that determine when your project gets completed, including:

  • Time of Year
  • Complexity of Project

Consider all of these factors when you are ready to contact a home remodeler. Along with these things to keep in mind, also remember that each remodeler’s current workload could also have an impact on when your project can be completed. It’s always beneficial to start your remodel earlier rather than be too late and miss your window with the remodeler of your choice.

Time of Year

Because we take pride in our craft, and have a custom-tailored approach for every project, it is recommended that you allot for the appropriate amount of time for your remodel to be completed from start to finish. If you have an entire home remodel, you may need to start your project over a year in advance, as these projects will be lengthy when done right. If you have a custom kitchen or another similar room remodel, you may need to allot for 4-8 months, depending on your wish list. It is important to keep your timeframe in mind when deciding to start your project, as you don’t want to run into the wrong time of year and not have your project done when you need it. For instance, if you want an outdoor living space for summer, you may need to start early Spring. The best season for each project is:

The cooler months are better for indoor projects such as bathroom remodels and kitchen remodels. Kitchen and bathroom remodels typically don’t require your home to be exposed to the elements, so the fall and winter months are perfect for these types of projects.

Projects that involve being outdoors or exposing your home to the outdoors, such as outdoor living spaces or home additions, are best done during the warmer months. For this reason, it is best to get this type of remodel in the design & consultation phase during the fall or winter.

Because we fill up fast, we recommend that you get in contact with us as soon as you can so that we can start making your dream a reality!

Complexity of Project

No two projects are alike. Because of this, it can be difficult to speculate on the amount of time it will take to complete yours. We believe in doing things the right way, and if we see a potential roadblock, we approach it head on rather than cut corners. For instance, if we are building your dream kitchen but notice structural damage that needs to be fixed, we will do so before moving forward. Kitchens and bathrooms are the perfect project for the months of October through December. When you include design and consultation time, construction time, and any potential time spent on roadblocks, now is the perfect opportunity to start developing your project.
